Although a local man was found guilty of murder during his trial in Calloway County last week, his attorney is still hopeful.
“The judge could and should reduce Harrison Yonts’ verdict to a lesser offense, and we hope he will,” said Dennis Null, Yonts’ attorney. “During the course of the trial, there were probably 50 people who came from Muhlenberg County to observe and show their support for the entire Yonts family. I was very impressed with the class of the people who came, and it helped to create an atmosphere that everyone in Calloway County, including the prosecution, were very impressed with. These supporters left such an impression on the other side that it is going to make it easier for us to get this situation corrected.”
