Eual Denver Robertson

    GREENVILLE – Eual Denver Robertson, 59, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 at his residence.
    Born in Muhlenberg County June 5, 1947, he was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Robertson, a sister, Ruth Whitfield and a brother, Jewell Robertson.
    Survivors include his wife, Brenda Whitfield Robertson; three daughters, Debra (David) Groves of Graham, Melissa (Luther, Jr.) Dwyer of Drakesboro and Cristena (Kenneth) Eaves of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Groves, Jessica Groves, Kayla Dwyer, Stephanie Eaves, Justin Dwyer, Christopher Dwyer, David Groves, Jr. and Michael Eaves; his mother, Cennie Robertson of Belton; and three brothers, J.W. Robertson of Greenville, and Jimmy Robertson and David Robertson, both of Belton.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 8 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Browning officiating. Burial followed in Union Ridge Cemetery in Belton.




Elbert Jewell Earle

    GREENVILLE – Elbert Jewell Earle, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 18, 1922, he was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. He was retired from Longest Elementary School, where he served as principal from 1963-1986. He taught Business Education at Muhlenberg Central High School from 1951-1963. He received his undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University and his masters degree and Rank I from Vanderbilt University George Peabody College of Education. He was a lifetime member of the Greenville VFW, former Muhlenberg County Water Commissioner, former member of the Muhlenberg County Democratic Executive Committee, served on the Muhlenberg County Airport Board and was a member of Black Diamond Masonic Lodge #785. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francis Earle in 1998 and a daughter, Dawn Edwards in 2001.
    Survivors include two sons, Terry (Rhonda) Earle and Steve (Bonita) Earle, both of Greenville; a daughter, Dianne (Terry) Bowles of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Brad Earle, Jon Earle, Mary Beth Thomas, Jeremy Bowles, Lynnsie Bowles, Cody Earle, Tara Edwards and Ben Edwards; five great-grandchildren, Kiah Earle, Jacob Earle, Zachary Edwards, Brittney Edwards and Cadence Edwards; and his care giver, Sherri Mayhew.
    Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Revs. Joe Pharis and Jon Earle officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Madisonville Community College Muhlenberg County Campus.


David Estil Uzzle

    BREMEN – David Estil Uzzle, 79, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at his residence.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 16, 1927, he retired from Gibraltar Coal Co. in Central City in 1989 after 41 years and was a member of UMWA Local 1092. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Bremen for 45 years and a member of the Bremen Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Hoover Uzzle in 1984.
    Survivors include his wife, Jean Hoover Uzzle; a daughter, Donna Brown of Bremen; a grandson, Tanner Brown of Bremen; and a sister, Virginia Vincent of Greenville.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 13 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Hogard officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Bremen. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Ethelyn Elizabeth Streets

    Ethelyn Elizabeth Streets, 86, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 at her residence in Central City.
    Born in Webster County Feb. 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Augusta Ashby. She graduated from Sebree High School in 1938 and attended Transylvania University in Lexington. She was a registered nurse, graduating from Owensboro Daviess County School of Nursing in 1943, was a former public health nurse for the Muhlenberg County Health Department and a former board member of Pennyroyal Mental Health and Retardation in Hopkinsville. She was active in the National Association for Mental Illness and a former board member of the Muhlenberg County Opportunity Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Derrell and Charles Ashby.
    Survivors include her husband, Harold Mason Streets; a son, Harold Mason Streets, Jr. of Central City; and two brothers, Wendell (Diane) Ashby of Sebree and Frank (Genevee) Ashby of Dulth, Ga.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 12 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Baptist Church Building Fund in Central City or to the Pennyroyal Mental Health in Hopkinsville.


Judith M. Gillaspie

    OWENSBORO – Judith M. Gillaspie, 56, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at Harborside Healthcare Center in Owensboro.
    Born in Greenville Jan. 25, 1951 she had been employed as a cake decorator at Wal-Mart and was of the Catholic faith.
    Survivors include her sister, Vivian Miller of Owensboro.
    Graveside services will be held at a later date in Pinecrest Cemetery in Foley, Ala. James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro was in charge of local arrangements. Rev. Gene Everly Harper

    POWDERLY – The Rev. Gene Everly Harper, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County April 14, 1923, he was a retired Baptist minister, having pastored Powderly Baptist Church for 25 years, where he retired from. He also pastored Small House Baptist Church and the Cave Springs Baptist Church. He was also formerly employed at Big John's in Greenville and also retired from Stewart's IGA in Central City. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a veteran of World War II. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 64 years, Marie, who went to be with the Lord March 28, 2006. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie.
    Survivors include a son, Mike (Cindy) Harper of Central City; a daughter, Barbara Edwards of Paducah; a daughter-in-law, Dale Harper of Powderly; eight grandchildren, Tommy Edwards, Nicki (David) Lynch and Terri Edwards, all of Paducah, Danny (Melissa) Harper of Greenville, Kelly Harper of Powderly, Brooklin Harper, Jordan Harper and Ryan Harper, all of Central City; two great-grandchildren, Sydney Harper and Lucas Harper, both of Greenville; a brother, L.H. (Betty) Harper of Echols; two sisters, Ruth (Paul)Bennett of Beaver Dam and Annetta Tarrants of Henderson; and an aunt, Helen Carter of Hartford.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 14 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Fitzhugh officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Powderly Missionary Baptist Church.


Annette DeArmond

    GREENVILLE – Annette DeArmond, 48, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 2, 1958, she was a secretary for Regional Medical Center Home Health and a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville.     Survivors include her mother, Martha DeArmond of Greenville; two brothers, Mark DeArmond of Crofton and Richard DeArmond of Reidland, Ky.; and a sister, Susan Holt of Madisonville.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 13 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McAbee officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.


Jeanette Helene Miller

    Jeanette Helene Miller, 73, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
    Born in Manhattan, N.Y., May 10, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Mary and George Trimarco. She was a housewife and was preceded in death by her husband, William Miller.
    Survivors include a daughter, Candace Knight; a son-in-law, Leonard Knight; a son, William A. Miller; three granddaughters, Barbara (Tom) Nantz, Christine (David) Anderson and Jaqueline Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Michael Anderson, Tristen Nantz and Nicole Anderson.
    Family, friends and neighbors may join the Miller family at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 in the meeting room at Sandy Hill Apartments, 801 Cleaton Road. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Morgan Kay Bowers

    GREENVILLE – Morgan Kay Bowers, infant, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at Saint Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
    She was the daughter of Jeffrey Lynn Bowers and Jessica Daniell Faulkerson Bowers. Other survivors include a half-brother, Justin Bowers of Greenville; grandparents, Joe and Wanda Joy Bowers of Depoy, Donnie Lee and Ewanna Kay Faulkerson of Greenville; great-grandmother, Delema Lee Simms of Greenville; and an uncle, Jerry Tudor (Susan) Bowers of Greenville.
    Private graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 at Green's Chapel Cemetery in Greenville with the Rev. Wayne Rice officiating. Gary's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Charles D. Humphrey

    Charles D. Humphrey, 83, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007 at Vanderbilt University Hospital.
    Born in Cherry Hill May 13, 1923, he was the son of the late Grover and Era Humphrey. He was a member of the Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was involved in many community activities over the years, serving as a member of the Central City Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years and for 55 years as a member of of the Masonic Lodge #673. He competed many times in local and national competitions as a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, of which he was a lifetime member. He was a Kentucky Colonel and for more than 40 years he owned and operated a service station and wrecker service in Central City, from which he retired in 1985. As a member of the Muhlenberg County Sportsmen's Club he was active in the development of Lake Malone. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Margie Bruce, Ann Gish and Clara Courson and a grandson, Jonathan Humphrey Peay.
    Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Jean Vincent Humphrey; two daughters, Mary Kate (Joe) Kordes and Ladena (David) Peay, both of Central City; four grandchildren, Christen (Todd) Stokes, Brent (Kim) Gatton, Stacey (Travis) Fox and Kevin Peay; and three great-grandchildren, Abigayle Stokes, Mackenzie Stokes and Madyson Stokes.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 14 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Revs. Travis Fox, Leroy Rearden and Gene Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Central City. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Cherry Hill Cemetery fund.


Raymond E. Walker

    INDEPENDENCE, MISS – Raymond E. Walker, 73, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 at his residence.
    He was a retired operations manager.
    Survivors include his wife, Sandi Walker; four sons, Jimmy Walker of Paris, Tenn., Johnny Walker of Dyersburg, Tenn., Terry Walker of Southaven, Mass. and Tim Walker of Independence; one daughter, Sherry Morow of Southaven; two brothers, Charles Walker of Oakland, Tenn. and T.J. Walker of Elizabethton, Tenn.; three sisters, Wanda Smith and Dean Barnes, both of Greenville; Louise Willis of Central City; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 7 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Independence.


Tyler Dale Stanley

    Tyler Dale Stanley, 7 months, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007 at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. after an illness.
    He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ricky Noffsinger, Dec. 7, 2006.
    Survivors include his parents, Timothy Dale Stanley and Tasha Kay Noffsinger Stanley of Crofton; grandparents, Darryl and Patty Dixon of Hopkinsville, Charles and Brenda Stanley of Lincolnton, N.C., and Cindy Noffsinger of Crofton; great-grandparents, Joey and Patsy Hines, Kenneth and Dorothy Dulin and Gaylon and Glenda Noffsinger, all of Hopkinsville, and Roxie and John Missanelli of Cadiz; one uncle, Clinton Noffsinger of Madisonville; and one aunt, Jennifer Pool of Crofton.
    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 14 at Gary's Funeral Home with the Revs. Melvin Felts and Nick Sandifer officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Spring Cemetery in Greenville.  Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Feb. 14 at the funeral home.


Hamilton R. Duncan

    VERO BEACH, FLA. – Hamilton R. Duncan, 97, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 in Vero Beach, Fla.
    Born Aug. 28, 1909, he was the son of the late Andrew Wallace Duncan and Ethelwyn Richardson Duncan of Greenville. He began visiting Vero Beach in 1952 and became a resident in 1971.
    He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky in 1932 with a degree in Geology. After graduation, he worked as a banker in Louisville for a few years before returning to Greenville prior to World War II to serve as secretary and treasurer of the W.G. Duncan Coal Company. He was subsequently named president, a position he held until the company was sold to Peabody Coal Company of St. Louis.
    He was of the Presbyterian faith and served as an Elder. Hamilton was a life long contributor to many organizations and institutions both in Vero and in his native Kentucky.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Robertson Duncan, who passed away in 1983.
    Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Mary Knepp Duncan; one daughter, Winnie Duncan Nofsinger of Winter Park, Fla.; one son, Hamilton Richardson Duncan, Jr. of Kremmling, Colo.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Janet Stingel of Biltmore Forrest, N.C., Linda Warrer of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and Christine Dean of Vero Beach.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Duncan Cultural Center, P.O. Box 289, Greenville, Ky., 42345.
    Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Feb. 14 at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville with the Rev. Tim Davis officiating. A private burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
    A reception will follow at 4 p.m. at the Duncan Cultural Center in Greenville.
    Gary's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


Virginia Christine Miller

    GREENVILLE – Virginia Christine Miller, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007.
    Born Feb. 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John and Pearl McGhee. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Carters Creek Missionary Baptist Church until declining health required home stay. She loved spending time with her girls and grandchildren, gardening, country music, playing Rook and many will remember her wonderful meals and beautiful wedding cakes. She loved people and was always finding a way to lend a helping hand. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Hubert Miller in 1998 and Rolland Gwin McGehee in 1944; four brothers, Earl, Henry, Wilma and Lois Ray; four sisters, Juanita Laster, Flossie Laster, Ruby McPherson and Margie Mosley; two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.
    Survivors include three daughters, Jeanie (Tommy) Eubanks and Jo Greenwood, both of Greenville, and Wanda Ragland of New Lenox, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Sherry (John) Sheehy of Hawthorn Woods, Ill.,, Lori Ragland of Chicago, Bill (Krissy) Ragland and David (Hong) Ragland, both of Mokena, Ill., Donna (Thomas) Clark of Ringgold, Ga., Angie (Steve) Vincent of Sacramento, Christina (Bobby) O'Brien of Mableton, Ga. and Josh (Beverly) Eubanks of Greenville; 14 great-grandchildren, Krista, Erin, Willy, Charlie, Sam, Matthew and Haley, all of Illinois, Courtney and Seth of Ringgold, Ga., Amber, Emily and Nathan of Sacramento, Robert of Mableton, Ga. and Dylan of Greenville; a step-daughter, Brenda (Larry) Vincent of Greenville; three step-grandchildren, Terry of Greenville, Denice White and Greg, both of Louisville; six step-great-grandchildren, Mandy, Brandy, Baley, Reese, Mallory and Nicole.
    Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 17 at Carters Creek Church with the Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
