Lillian "Billie" Sears

    Lillian "Billie" Sears, 82, of Central City, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Ind.
    Born in McLean County June 19, 1924, she was of the Baptist faith.
    Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Covey of California and Sue Tuck of Evansville; a son, William Buddy Lott of Central City; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 15 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City.




Ricky Lee Brown

    Ricky Lee Brown, 44, of Central City, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
    He was born in Muhlenberg County July 2, 1962.
    Survivors include his father, Earl M. Brown of Graham; two brothers, Donald Vincent of Evansville and James Brown of Owensboro; four sisters, Grace Canada of Tampa, Fla., Brenda Gossett of Bensenville, Ill., Martha McLevain of Drakesboro and Faye Brown of Central City; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 17 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. T.H. Davis officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.


Donald Joe Smith

    Donald Joe Smith, 65, of Central City, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 at the residence of his daughter in Central City.
    Born in Weakley County, Tenn. Aug. 29, 1941, he was retired.
    Survivors include three sons, Richard Smith, Charles Smith and Curtis Smith, all of Central City; a daughter, Tracie Neal of Central City; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Paul Smith of West Springfield, Mass., Wilburn Smith of Dresden, Tenn., Thomas Smith of Evarts, Ky. and Charlie Smith of Marion, Ill.; and a sister, Susie Smith of Monroe, Ohio.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Feb. 17, at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Everly officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery in Moorman.


Mable Reddish

    BEAVER DAM – Mable Reddish, 95, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 at Professional Care Rehab Center in Hartford.
    Born in McLean County Dec. 10, 1911, she was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
    Survivors include two sons, Thomas Reddish and Marion D. Reddish, both of Beaver Dam; three daughters, Ramonda Kiper and Mavis Willis, both of Evansville and Willie Virginia Rea of Owensboro; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 16, at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Renfrow officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.


Daniel Ray Epley

    DRAKESBORO – Daniel Ray Epley, 82, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
    He was born in Muhlenberg County.
    Survivors include three sons, Daniel L. Epley of Drakesboro, Eddie Epley of Central City and Tony Epley of Russellville; three daughters, Rita Roberts of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Marlene Smith and Linda Johhnson, both of Drakesboro; three sisters, Virginia McMilen of Opp, Ala., and Rosa Nell Pearson and Faye Head, both of Russellville; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
    Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 17 at Highway Cemetery in Drakesboro with the Rev. Danny Epley officiating.


Larry Gene Cornette

    GREENVILLE – Larry Gene Cornette, 58, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007 at his residence.
    Born in Greenville Sept. 8, 1948, he was an electrical supervisor for T.V.A. and he worked there for 27 years. He was a member of Sharon General Baptist Church in Greenville and he loved golf, hunting and his family. He was preceded in death by his father, William Clayton Cornette in 1994 and a brother, George Cornette in 2006.
    Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Patty Cornette of Greenville; two sons, Mark Cornette and Shawn (Stacey) Cornette, both of Greenville; two granddaughters, Haley and Taylor Cornette, both of Greenville; his mother, Barbara Cornette of Greenville; a brother, Alfred (Dianne) Cornette of Greenville; two sisters, Donna (Mike) Turner of Greenville and Debbie (Jimmy) Long of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 at Gary's Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Day officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Greenville.


Elmer Lee Hoggard

    GRAHAM – Elmer Lee Hoggard, 66, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 at Maple Manor Healthcare in Greenville after a lengthy illness.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 5, 1941, he was formerly employed in the woodworking industry and was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a dedicated University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan.
    Survivors include two sons, Preston Lee Hoggard and Leslie Ray (Leigh) Hoggard, both of Graham; a daughter, Lisa Kay (Robert) Vincent of Graham; eight grandchildren, Jordan, Logan, Connor, Mackenzie Hoggard of Henderson, William Hoggard of Hawaii, Timothy Hoggard of Graham and Andrea and Kayla Vincent of Graham.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 20 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Groves officiating. Burial followed in Graham Hill Cemetery in Graham.


William "Bill" Geary

    William "Bill" Geary, 62, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 at Maple Manor Healthcare in Greenville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 26, 1944, he was the son of the late Truman and Juanita Mackey Geary. He had been employed as a line supervisor at Caterpillar. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kim and Wilburn Geary.
    Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Linda Geary of Central City; two sons, Danny and Brian; a granddaughter, Samantha; nine brothers and sisters, Betty, Jim, Wayne, Ronnie, Linda, Diana, Mona, Teresa and Kathy.
    There were no funeral services. Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro was in charge of arrangements.


Flossie A. Harkins

    GREENVILLE – Flossie A. Boggess Harkins, 92, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
    Born in Todd County Aug. 16, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Mattie Bell and Daniel Boggess. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her children, affectionately known as her "10 Little Indians". She was a member of Sharon General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bishop Harkins in 1975, a half-sister, Beatrice Cessna, a half-brother, Eura Slaughter, and a great-great-grandson, Jason Michael Ball, Jr.
    Survivors include seven daughters, Elsie (Jerry) Fleming and Sue (Charles) Jernigan, both of Greenville, Sherri (Jerry) Oates, Mary (David) Greene, both of Graham, Sheila Harkins Foster of Sacramento, Linda (Joe) Carr of Bowling Green and Ann Bethel of Crown Point, Ind.; three sons, Junior (Becky) Harkins, Sammy (Teresa) Harkins of Greenville and Mike (Paula) Harkins of Graham; 15 grandchildren, Vicki (Donald) Wilcox, Scott (Kim) Fleming, Shawn Harkins, Laronda Ford and Clayton Foster, all of Greenville, Jeremy (Kelly) Oates, Chad (Beth) Harkins, Penny (Chad) Jessup and Andrew Harkins, all of Graham, Christi (William) Dukes of Central City, Jennifer (Matt) Jernigan of Beech Creek, Jessica Foster and Joe Brandon Carr, both of Bowling Green, Kara Harkins of Madisonville and Lisa (Eddie) Batey of Chicago; 15 great-grandchildren, Jarrod and Kennedy Fleming, Tequia (Josh) Staples, Risha (Ryan) Miller, Baylan, Bren and Blaine Ford and Channa Foster, all of Greenville, Jacob Oates, Hope and Luke Harkins, all of Graham, Presley Dukes of Central City, Dailee Jernigan of Beech Creek, Nika (Jason) Ball of Bloomington, Ill. and Alyssa Batey of Chicago; four great-great-grandchildren, Abbigale Staples and Jackson and Landon Miller, all of Greenville and Isaiah Ball of Bloomington, Ill.; her caregiver, Janet Cobb of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 20 with the Revs. Ed McCarraher and Mike Pitzer officiating. Burial followed in the Lee Family Cemetery in Greenville.


Gerald Steven "Steve" Liles

    GREENVILLE – Gerald Steven "Steve" Liles, 36, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 at Vanderbilt Trauma Unit in Nashville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County March 16, 1970, he was employed as a builder of countertops by Ace Supply Company in Greenville. He enjoyed being with his family, computer games, fishing and being outdoors. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Depoy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, the Rev. James and Tootsie Vincent.
    Survivors include his wife, Missy Waddell Liles; three children, Cody Allen Liles, Bethel Aaron Damme and Kaylee Ann Liles, all of Greenville; and his parents, Gerald "Jerry" and Judith "Judy" Liles of Greenville.
    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 22 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Drury and Chad Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Feb. 21 at Tucker Funeral Home.


Duard Franklin Mosley, Sr.

    GREENVILLE – Duard Franklin Mosley, Sr., 82, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County April 7, 1924, he was the son of the late Edd and Ora Mosley. He was a maintenance engineer and of the Baptist faith. He was a World War II veteran and received the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Sanford and James and a sister, Lola Sparks Mosley.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary Thompson Mosley; four sons, Duard Franklin Mosley, Jr. of Elmhurst, Ill., Randell Mosley of Oak Park, Ill. and Manuel Dejesus and George Mosley, both of Chicago; a daughter, Theresa Brown of Lombard, Ill.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 21 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adcock and Father Ben Luther officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
