Neoma Dee Miller

    BREMEN – Neoma Dee Miller, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County April 13, 1926, she was a member of Brier Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bremen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ray Miller, a grandson, Billy D. Miller, Jr. and a great-granddaughter, Savanna Brooks.
    Survivors include three sons, Danny R. Miller, Billy D. Miller and Fred C. Miller, all of Bremen; a daughter, Teresa Vinson of Bremen; four sisters, Louise Ward of Owensboro, Nadine Hendricks, Lucy "Minnie" Miller and Ollie Phelps, all of Bremen; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 22 at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with the Rev. Gary Whitworth officiating. Burial followed in Brier Creek Cemetery in Bremen. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Green River Hospice.



Margarette Audell Cornellier

    TRAVERSE CITY, MICH. – M. Audell Cornellier, 82, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City.
    Born in Graham March 5, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Hazel Richey Vincent. She married the love of her life, Clarence Cornellier in the Detroit area while Clarence was working for the Ford Motor Company. After retirement they moved to Escanaba, Mich., but it only took one winter for them to head for warmer weather. They settled in Greenville for many years until health issues brought her to Traverse City to be close to family. She was an independent soul with a feisty nature who enjoyed to entertain. She was a whiz in the kitchen and would cook for anyone at any opportunity. She was artistic and displayed her talents in many wonderful paintings. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Art Guild in Greenville and volunteered at the Hospital Gift Shop in Greenville for many years. She spent as much time as possible at the Greenville Country Club playing a round of golf or doing anything associated with her passion for the game. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cornellier and a daughter, Teddi Sue Marr.
    Survivors include two sons, Anthony (Judy) Cornellier of Troy and Vince (Marianne Foster) Cornellier of Traverse City; a brother, Jessie (Lana) Vincent of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Brian (Jacki) Marr, Kim (Greg) Valdez, Anton (Melissa) Cornellier and Erik Cornellier; a cousin, Jackie Bennett; and many other family members and friends.
    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Feb. 24 at Gary's Funeral Home with Dr. Tim Davis officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery in Bremen. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the charity of one's choice.


Daisy Mae Laster

    GREENVILLE – Daisy Mae Laster, 66, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville after a lengthy illness.
    Born in Greenville Jan. 15, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Ellis Brandon Crick and Petronilla Jarvis Crick. She was a member of Woodland Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Junior Crick, Ellis Orville Crick and Jimmy Crick and a great-grandson, Micheal Cardarelli.
    Survivors include her husband of 49 1/2 years, John "J.M." Laster; two sons, John R. Laster of Greenville and the Rev. Danny (Keisha) Laster of Summertown, Tenn.; a daughter, Donna (Thomas) Jordan of Lakeland, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Chasity Laster Deberry and Christopher Laster, both of Russellville, Cassandra Jordan Cardarelli and Jennifer Jordan, both of Lakeland, Dustin Laster, Timothy Laster and Titus Laster, all of Summertown; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Crick and Bobby Crick, both of Greenville; a sister, Louise Graham of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 23 at Gary's Funeral Home with the Revs. Danny Laster, Tommy Webb and Billy Vincent officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Cemetery in Greenville.


Helen Louise Garrett

    GREENVILLE – Helen Louise Garrett, 87, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County July 29, 1919, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Central City. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosita Everett.
    Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane May of Central City and Bonnie Jo Mayes of Louisville; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Raymond Carter of Illlinois.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 24 at Tucker Funeral Home. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.


Tiffany Ann Holland

    BREMEN – Tiffany Ann Holland, 16, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Dec. 8, 1990, she was a student a Muhlenberg North High School and a member of Woodson Baptist Church.
    Survivors include her father, Kennedy "Duck" Holland of Bremen; her mother, Theresa Faughender of Greenville; a sister, Summer Faughender of Greenville; a step-brother, Tyler Faughender of Dawson Springs; her grandparents, Linda Black of Bremen, Ann Vincent of Greenville and David Allison of Rough River; her great-grandmothers, Virginia Vincent of Bremen and Rachel Allison of Texas; an aunt, Lee Ann Eaves of Fort Mitchell; two uncles, Shane Allison of Eddyville and Kelly Wallace of Greenville; a great-uncle, Barry Vincent of Bremen; and a special friend, Caleb Lane of Central City.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 25 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Greene officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery in Bremen.


Violeatha Piper

    CLEATON – Violeatha Piper, 73, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
    Born in Greenville June 20, 1933, she was a homemaker and of the General Baptist faith.
    Survivors include three sons, E.P. Piper, Jr. of Ohio County, William Piper of Herrin, Ill. and Bryan Piper of Drakesboro; five daughters, Crystal Brough and Cynthia Napiorkowski, both of Chicago, Dolly Majors of Greenville, Brenda Edwards of Luzerne and Thereas Napiorkowski of Herrin; six brothers, Leroy Jones of Greenville, Donald Jones of Knox, Ind., Bobby Jones of Round Rock, Texas, Harold Jones of Central City, Roger Jones of Beaver Dam and Glendal Jones of Michigan City, Ga.; four sisters, Shirley Logan of Houston, Texas, Pearl Frizzell of Hartford, Linda Pinnock of Beaver Dam and Mildred Gaphart of Mountain City, Tenn.; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 25 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Everly officiating. Burial followed in Miller Cemetery in Cleaton.


Emma Sue Raymer

    SMYRNA, TENN. – Emma Sue Raymer, 70, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 in Mayfield, N. C.
    A native of Greenville, she was born May 10, 1936 to the late Edgar and Blanche Mundy Hill. She was a member of Smyrna First Free Methodist Church and a retiree from advertising sales.
    Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Donald Raymer of Smyrna; three sons, Edwin Raymer and Stephen Raymer, both of Murfreesboro and Von Alan Raymer of Smyrna; and eight grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 27 at Gary's Funeral Home with the Revs. Wayne Rice and Kerry Vincent officiating. Burial followed in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Manitou.


Isabelle Haley

    GREENVILLE – Isabelle Haley, 84, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at Belle Meade Home in Greenville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 2, 1922, she was a homemaker and a member of East Union Baptist Church in Graham.
    Survivors include two sons, E.T. Haley and Jerald Haley, both of Greenville; and two grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Feb. 25 at Tucker Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Carl Sparks officiating. Burial followed in East Union Cemetery in Graham.


Teddy Lynn Johnson

    SACRAMENTO – Teddy Lynn Johnson, 34, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 on Highway 175 North in Bremen as the result of a traffic accident.
    Born in Hopkins County Feb. 29, 1972, he was a member of Brier Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
    Survivors include three daughters, Natasha Jackson of Bremen, Monica Johnson of Illinois and Jessica Phelps of Nelson Creek; a step-daughter, Adriana Dinsmore of Sacramento; a step-son, Roman Dahl of Sacramento; three brothers, Danny Johnson and Jimmy Johnson, both of Drakesboro and Ricky Johnson of Belton; a sister, Anna Howell of Drakesboro; his step-father, Darrell Vincent of Bremen; and his fiance, Carrie Dinsmore of Sacramento.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Feb. 27 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Whitworth officiating. Burial followed in Miller Cemetery in Cleaton.


Ozie Evelyn Shelton

    GREENVILLE – Ozie Evelyn Shelton, 77, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville after a sudden illness.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Nov. 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Weatherford and Gertie Putty Weatherford. She was a nurse's aid at Jenny Stuart Hospital and Muhlenberg Community Hospital and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brack Shelton Jan. 17, 1992, and a grandson, Roy Bivins June 22, 1978.
    Survivors include a daughter, Judy Bivins of Greenville; two sons, Larry Shelton of Lexington and Randall Shelton of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Shelton and James Shelton, both of Hopkinsville; and two sisters, Mildred Sullivan of Texas and Dorothy Boyd of New Mexico.
    Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Feb. 27 at Landmark Cemetery in Greenville with the Rev. Bud Weatherford officiating.

James Belcher

    LOUISVILLE – James Belcher, 41, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007.
    Survivors include a daughter, Brittany Belcher; two sisters, Tammy Allen-Laycock and Tonya Derry; three nieces; and a nephew.
    Private graveside services were held Feb. 27 at Rosewood Methodist Church Cemetery in Greenville. Gary's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Anne Cheryl Pruitt

    GREENVILLE – Anne Cheryl Pruitt, 62, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 30, 1944, she was a retired school teacher and a member of Greenville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
    Survivors include a daughter, Andrea Pruitt (Richard A.) Hooper of Greenville; a granddaughter, Sarah Ann Hooper of Greenville; and a sister, Faye C. Harkins of Greenville.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 28 at Greenville Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Arthur Burrows officiating. Burial followed. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Muhlenberg County Humane Society, P.O. Box 164, Greenville, KY 42345.


Deronia Kay Jessup

    GREENVILLE – Deronia Kay Jessup, 54, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro.
    Born in Mt. Vernon Nov. 26, 1952, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was raised and preceded in death by Lloyd and Fanney Robbins and also preceded in death by a step-brother, Roger Bell.
    Survivors include a son, Malcolm (Brandy) Jessup II of Central City; three daughters, Kim Jessup (Kevin) McKinney of Beechmont, Krista Jessup (Steve) Butcher of Spencer, Tenn. and Angela Jessup of Manchester, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Amber Butcher, Ashley Butcher, Justin Butcher and Tyler McKinney; her mother, Julie Arnold of Indianapolis; her father and step-mother, Carl (Shirley) Robbins of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Carol Sparks; a step-brother, Larry Bell; three half-sisters, Lisa Robbins, Carleen Robbins and Janet Day; and two half-brothers, Mark Arnold and Robert Arnold.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 28 at Tucker Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Brown officiating. Burial followed in Vernal Grove Cemetery in Depoy.


Helen Pauline Harris

    DRAKESBORO – Helen Pauline Harris, 77, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
    Born in Muhlenberg County March 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harrus and Geneva Harris. She was the eighth grade spelling bee champion of Muhlenberg County and graduated as the valedictorian of Drakesboro High School. Following her graduation from high school, she received a scholarship to Braun College in Nashville, which she attended prior to Western Kentucky University. She graduated from Western Kentucky University, where she received her bachelors and masters degrees. After graduating from Western she taught elementary, junior high and high school classes at Drakesboro High School for 42 years. During this time, she worked with the academic team and after her retirement she continued to volunteer with the team. She was a loyal supporter of the Drakesboro Alumni Association for many years, serving various offices, including treasurer. She edited books for Kentucky writer, Bobby Anderson and was also instrumental in establishing the Thumb Pickers Association in Drakesboro. She enjoyed taking frequent trips with the Senior Citizens Group and enjoyed a loving family. People who are close in heart while miles apart, nice friends, loyal and giving to the end, giving her a rich, rich life. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Gobel.
    Survivors include two brothers, Gordon R. (Bonnie K.) Harris of Drakesboro and Hobart, Ind. and Bill (Mary) Scott of Chesterton, Ind.; a sister, Kaye S. (William R.) Ward of Mesa, Ariz.; three nephews, Rick (Debbie) Harris, Chris (Lila) Adkins of Mont. and Jess Adkins of Ariz.; a niece, Renee Lazano of Ind.; two great-nephews, Colter Adkins and Jeffrey Adkins, both of Mont.; and a great-niece, Katrina Adkins of Mont.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. March 4 at Tucker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highway Cemetery in Drakesboro. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. March 3 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City.
