Clara Ruth Carr

    HENDERSON – Clara Ruth Carr, 80, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
    She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Maggie Carr and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sebree. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe, John, Leonard and William Carr and two sisters, Irene Ferguson and Ruby McPherson.
    Survivors include a sister, Edna Mae Morris of Owensboro; a brother, Norman (Myrtle) Carr of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews, including Bobby (Bea) Carr of Henderson, who were her caregivers.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. April 27 at Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson with the Rev. Nathan Whinsant officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the charity of choice.




Lois H. Eaves

    GREENVILLE – Lois H. Eaves, 90, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at her residence.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 4, 1916, she was a homemaker and a member of Duvall's Chapel General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; a son, Billy; a daughter, Linda; and a granddaughter, Wendy.
    Survivors include a son, Jeff (Gloria) Eaves of Greenville; two daughters, Joyce (Ronald) Offutt of Central City and Mary Jo (Jimmy) Clark of Nashville; nine grandchildren, Byron, Sean, Ronnie Jr., Tina, Michael, Chris, Brandi, Freeman and Lance; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeannie Fitzhugh of Hammond, Ind.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. April 26 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Haire officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens in Powderly.



Ruby Jewell Ladd

    MARION – Ruby Jewell Ladd, 76, died Monday, April 23, 2007 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
    Born in Hopkins County Sept. 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Hicks and Nora Johnson Hicks. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Niles Ladd; a son, James Niles Ladd; a great-grandchild; and several brothers and sisters.
    Survivors include four daughters, Judy Hunt of Marion, Claudia Norris, Myrtle Lee Adams and Ruby Griffin, all of Dawson Springs; two sisters, Evelyn Ladd of Burna and Bessie White of Hartford; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. April 26 at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with the Rev. Brian Richardson officiating. Burial followed in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs.


Fred Latham

    BELTON – Fred Latham, 90, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville following several months illness.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Jan. 5, 1917, he was the son of the late Stephen Weaver "Plug" Latham and Drewcilla O'Neal Latham. He was a farmer, retired from Emerson Electric after 24 years and was a member of the Rosewood United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lee Dukes Latham in 2000, two sons, Danny Latham in 2000 and Bobby Latham in 1943, and a daughter, Betty Latham in 1948.
    Survivors include four sons, the Rev. Steve Latham of Campbellsville, Henry Latham of Rosewood, Leroy Latham of Russellville and Dennis Latham of Greensboro, N.C.; three daughters, Dianne Winsett of West Plains, Mo., Gwendolyn Carlock of Lewisburg and Linda Williams of Clarksville; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 29 at Gary's Funeral Home with the Revs. Doug Phillips, Ken Vincent and Brent Waltrip officiating. Burial followed in Rosewood Methodist Church Cemetery in Rosewood.


Steven Dale Everett

    GREENVILLE – Steven Dale Everett, 47, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at his residence.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 20, 1959, he worked construction and was of the Baptist faith.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary DeArmond Everett; a brother, Anthony Everett of Nelson Creek; and a sister, Judy Harper of Graham.
    Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. April 27 at Nelson Creek Cemetery in Central City with the Rev. Larry Shadowen officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.



Nell Rae Riley

    SACRAMENTO – Nell Rae Riley, 63, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
    Born in Hopkins County July 31, 1943, she was a homemaker.
    Survivors include three sons, Bruce Dossett, Tony Dossett and Keith Dossett, all of Sacramento; and six grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 29 at Tucker Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Phillips officiating. Burial followed in West Schoolhouse Cemetery in Sacramento.



Samuel C. Mefford

    MORGANTOWN – Samuel C. Mefford, 80, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at his residence.
    Born in Butler County, he was the son of the late Elmore Mefford and Lora Neely Mefford. He was a retired school teacher and a member of Huntsville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma A. Huntt Mefford, two sisters, Ruth Reneer and Vida Lou Porter, and a brother, Leo Mefford.
    Survivors include three nieces, Sue Payne of Centertown, Javene Martin and Connie Barks, both of Huntsville; three great-nephews; a great-niece; and two great-great nieces.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 29 at Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown. Burial followed in Huntsville United Methodist Church Cemetery.



Sarah Elizabeth Brown

    BREMEN – Sarah Elizabeth Brown, 77, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
    Born in McLean County Oct. 27, 1929, she was a care sitter and a member of Trinity Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Goble Brown.
    Survivors include three sons, Donnie (Janet) Brown and Larry (Marie) Brown, both of Bremen and Gary (Glenna) Brown of Central City; seven grandchildren, Pamela Brown, Timothy Brown, Micheal Brown, Rebecca Brown, Ben Brown, Bethany Brown and Tanner Brown; a great-grandchild, Nathaniel Brown; and three sisters, Geneva Jackson and Jean Ramsey, both of Madisonville and Betty Miller of Washington, Mo.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. May 2 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Revs. Alan Harris and J.W. Haire officiating. Burial will follow in Gish Cemetery in Bremen.


Lula Mae Latham

    DUNMOR – Lula Mae Latham, 88, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
    Born in Butler County March 19, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Rado Arnold and Bessie Elizabeth Johnson Arnold. She was a homemaker and a member of Beech Creek Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George William Latham.
    Survivors include a son, Henry Latham of Evansville; two sisters, Evaline Wallace and Lillian McMillon, both of Dunmor; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. May 2 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. in Lewisburg. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery in Dunmor.



Wilbur Earl Johnson, Sr.

    Wilbur Earl Johnson, Sr., 76, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at his residence in Central City.
    Born in Muhlenberg County July 24, 1930, he was the son of the late John Morton Johnson and Eula Mae Agee Johnson. He was a retired laboratory technician at Tait Manufacturing and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Johnson and Veachel Johnson.
    Survivors include two sons, Wilbur E. Johnson, Jr. and James Mitchell (Sue) Johnson, both of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Sheba A. (Tim) Cramer of Dayton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Waymon (Jean) Johnson of Dayton; four sisters, Sarah (Cleat) Debrosse of Central City, Hilda (Paul) Preston of Dayton, Cloe Ann (Terril) Littrel of Tennessee and Betty Jo (Wayne) Anderson of Greenville; his step-mother, Myrtle Johnson; and special friends, Jerry Rose and Belinda Rose.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. May 3 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Revs. Ted Everly and Bill Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. May 2 at the funeral home.



Anna Jean Vincent

    GRAHAM – Anna Jean Vincent, 44, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at her residence.
    Born in Chicago, Ill. May 21, 1962, she was a homemaker and a member of Bryan Baptist Church in Graham.
    Survivors include her husband, Henry Paul Vincent; a son, Anthony Jordan Vincent of Graham; two daughters, Jennifer Nicole Woodruff of Rock Springs and Taylor Elizabeth Vincent of Graham; four grandchildren, Leah Woodruff, Ryan Chaney, Christopher Chaney and Aaron Woodruff; her mother and step-father, Brenda (Kenny) Rolley of Graham; a brother, John Anthony Brown of Greenville; and a sister, Donna Elaine Rhew of Madisonville.
    Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. May 2 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Winters officiating. Burial will follow in Corley Chapel Cemetery in Graham. Paul R. Wickliffe, Jr.

    SUMMIT, N.J. – Paul Reynolds Wickliffe, Jr., died Nov. 15, 2006 in Summit.

    A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 3 at the Greenville First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Tim Davis officiating. Gary's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
