Soldiers old and new drawn to Muhlenberg

Wendell Ford Training Center provides unrivaled experience

    While all soldiers throughout the country receive extensive training in preparation for war zones, those who train at the Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center in Greenville believe they leave with skills training unmatched by other facilities.

Local WWII POW: Learn from the past

    LAKE MALONE — There’s a reason the American Flag at Joe Sterner’s country home flies at half-mast from April 6 through May 5. The importance of that time isn’t easily recognized by most Americans. But to him, it represents the time when American and Filipino soldiers were captured and became part of the infamous Bataan Death March to a Japanese prison camp.
