Harlan, Lady Stars shut down South
HARTFORD – Muhlenberg North got an “A+” performance
from its ace and cruised to its third straight 10th District Girls Softball
Tournament championship with a 10-0 rout of Muhlenberg South in the
May 23rd title game.
The Lady Stars have now won five of the last six
District titles and are poised to grab more hardware in future years
with a young, talented lineup that turned in a superb performance in
the championship.

McLean Co. rolls past South 17-7
CALHOUN – Things started well,
but ended badly for Muhlenberg South in the opening round of the 10th
District Baseball Tournament May 21 at McLean County High School.
The Suns plated seven runs in the first two innings,
but were shut out the rest of the way by McLean County ace Scotty Woodburn
in a lop-sided 17-7 affair that ended after six innings.

Taylor’s walk-off homer saves Eagles
CALHOUN – Trailing by one and down to their
final two outs, top-seeded Ohio County got a thrilling two-run, walk-off
homer from Bryan Taylor in the bottom of the seventh inning to score
a 4-3 win over Muhlenberg North on Monday in the opening round of the
10th District Baseball Tournament at McLean County High School.
