First Kentucky Bank squad wins Chamber Golf Scramble
The Greater Muhlenberg Chamber of Commerce hosted
21 four-person teams June 14 in the first GMCC Golf Classic at the Central
City Country Club.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the response to our
inaugural golf scramble and the overwhelming support it received from
our member businesses,” said Elizabeth Gentry, president of the Chamber.
“As a fundraiser, this is an important event for us as a non-profit
organization dedicated to supporting economic development initiatives
here in Muhlenberg County.”

were 21 four-person teams that competed in the classic. The First Kentucky
Bank took place, the squad made up of Mike Mercer, Whitney Mercer,
Parker Scarbro and Jerry Mayes fired a 20-under-par score in the 18-hole
scramble to win by virtue of a western playoff over the second place
team of Mike Goldston, Scott Ray, Mark Adams and Steve Sigers. (Leader-News

Kentucky brings another Top 10 for Biffle
SPARTA – Greg Biffle scored another top-ten finish
– his fourth of the year – in Brewco Motorsports’ No. 37 Cub Cadet Ford
Fusion: this time in the Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway Saturday night.
For the second week in a row, Biffle juggled
a cross-country schedule to compete in Brewco’s Cub Cadet Ford. He arrived
at Kentucky Speedway just before qualifying, and the first laps he made
all weekend in the Brewco entry were good enough for an 11th place starting
position in the race.
