GRAHAM — Setting a new North American Flugtag record was no fluke for a group of local men who were not only intent on winning the Red Bull Flugtag in Nashville, Tenn., Saturday, but also in breaking the North American flight record.
The previous U.S. Flugtag flight record was 81 feet. Now, the Vincent team’s new record to break is 155 feet.

The Vincent brothers and friends are successful in taking flight above the Cumberland River during the Red Bull Flugtag in Nashville, Tenn., Saturday. The “Rocky Mountain Rocket” not only won the event but also set a new Flugtag flight distance record.

GREENVILLE — The Muhlenberg County Libraries request to the county for $217,000 in coal severance funds to replenish its savings account for money spent on the Central City addition did not meet with support from at least two members of the Fiscal Court at the June 21 regular Muhlenberg Fiscal Court meeting.
Library board chairman Larry Vaught addressed the Fiscal Court about $300,000 in state funds that were promised to the library by state Rep. Brent Yonts in March 21, 2005. After receiving $83,000 from the state, the funding was cut.
