Basketball Legends weekend set for Oct. 19-20
Muhlenberg County will celebrate its considerable heritage
in the sport of basketball this fall and raise money for the American
Red Cross with the 2007 Muhlenberg County Basketball Legends Weekend on
Friday and Saturday, October 19th and 20th, sponsored by First Kentucky
Bank.
Kicking off the weekend is the first ever Legends
Banquet featuring keynote speaker Ray Harper, the three-time national
champion head coach at Kentucky Wesleyan (1999, 2001) and Oklahoma City
University (2007). The Legends Banquet is scheduled to begin at
6 p.m. at the Multi-Ministry Center of Second Baptist Church in Greenville.

Biffle, Brewco Cub Cadet Ford earn another Top 10
in 2007
LOUDON, NH – Greg Biffle scored another top-ten finish
– his fifth of the year - in Brewco Motorsports’ No. 37 Cub Cadet Ford
Fusion: this time in the Camping World 300 at New Hampshire International
Speedway Saturday night.
After qualifying in 15th place for the event,
Biffle struggled early in the race, telling Crew Chief Newt Moore over
the radio on lap eight that the car was a “little bit too loose.” The
Brewco Cub Cadet team pitted on lap 36 of the 200-lap event for four tires,
fuel and to make trackbar and air pressure adjustments.
MCDC holds 4th annual Multiple Sclerosis golf tournament
The Muhlenberg Career Development Center’s Multiple Sclerosis Golf
Tournament was held June 23 at Twin Oaks Golf Course in Greenville.
Players raised $4,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Tanglewood Bike Ride
in Greensboro, N.C. MCDC Bike Club students will participate in
a two-day ride covering 100 miles for Multiple Sclerosis in September
in Greensboro. This was the 4th annual tournament supporting this
worthy cause. Nineteen area teams played in this year’s event, and $300.00
was paid to the winner of each flight and $200.00 to second place in each
flight. Closest to the pin winners were Bill Woodard and Jade Falcon.
Longest putt winners were Shawn Cornette and Dan Courtney. MCDC
wishes to thank area businesses for their continued support of the golf
scramble. Winners of the first flight were, Ricky Page, Jeff Farley, Jeff
