For Jessica Embery Smith, nothing that could be or has been done will bring complete peace to her family after the savage murder of her sister, Carol Embery Hamilton, three years ago; but she is satisfied that justice has been served.
Her sister’s convicted murderer, William Ashley Yeagle, was found guilty and sentenced to 40 years in prison at the end of his trial in Daviess Circuit Court Dec. 7. After more than four hours of deliberation by the jury, Smith was watching Yeagle’s face when the verdict was read.
