Lady Stars blast Sycamore in Classic

    GREENVILLE – Muhlenberg North roared out of the gate behind sharpshooter Whitney Gaston’s six first quarter triples and rolled to an 85-49 win over Sycamore (TN) on Saturday in the Lady Stars Classic at MNHS.
    Gaston finished with a game-high 22 points as the Stars led 52-25 at the half and never looked back.  Gaston was 6-of-10 from 3-point range.  The junior leads the state in made 3-pointers at over four per game.

Lady Suns take down McLean County 58-32

    The Muhlenberg South Lady Suns picked up a second victory at home in as many days to dominate district opponent McLean County, 58-32 Jan. 16, after defeating Hopkins County Central, 58-43, the previous night.
    Kayla Engler led the Lady Suns with 20 points and ten rebounds.  Macy Smith added ten points for South.

McLean Co. defeats South 64-56

    The Muhlenberg South boys varsity basketball team has come back from being down at the half in five of their last seven wins but that was not the case last Tuesday night in a 64-56 upset loss to McLean County.  The Suns defeated the Cougars on the road in December and appeared to be well on their way, jumping to an 8-2 lead in the first quarter.  McLean County, however, went on a run to gain the lead and enter intermission with a 33-31 advantage.

Morris’ free throw seals thriller for Stars

    Aaron Morris’ free throw with the score tied and no time remaining gave Muhlenberg North a thrilling 62-61 win over visiting Henderson County on Friday night at MNHS.
    The Colonels (12-4) held the ball for over a minute for a chance to take the last shot, but Darius Haygan was whistled for a walk as he drove the lane with five seconds remaining.

Butler Co. no match for Stars

  MORGANTOWN – Aaron Morris had 19 points and Jake Clark added 16 as Muhlenberg North blitzed homestanding Butler County 75-40 on Tuesday night.
