Jonathan Clark Gibson

    CUTLER, ILL. – Jonathan Clark Gibson, 19, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 in St. Louis University Hospital as a result of an automobile accident.
    Born in Greenville Oct. 30, 1987, he was a fork lift driver at Gilster Mary Lee Pasta Plant in Steeleville, Ill. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leroy Gibson and grandparents, Macon and Marietta Davis.
    Survivors include his parents, William and Marsha Gibson of Pinckneyville; grandmothers, Mary Gibson of Graham and Helen Evers of Chester, Ill.; four brothers, William H. Gibson, Jr. of Cairo, Ill., and Clinton R. Gibson, Michael A. Gibson and Macon J. Gibson, all of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Sarina C. Gibson (special friend, Mark Shemwell) of Greenville and Marietta C. Gibson of Pinckneyville; four nephews, Clinton Gibson, Jr., Harold Gibson, Jordan Gibson and Winston Gibson; two nieces, Cypress Gibson and Kaylee Gibson; and many dear aunts, uncles and friends.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 20 at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Paul Drury officiating. Burial followed in Davis Cemetery in Greenville.



William Earl Russell

    GREENVILLE – William Earl Russell, 85, died Monday, July 16, 2007 at his residence.
    Born in Muhlenberg County July 13, 1922, he was a retired coal miner and a member of South Carrollton Missionary Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran and was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Russell in 1998.
    Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Raymond) Beshear of Evansville, Judy Russell Smith of Sacramento and Bonnie (Steve) Divine of Stomping Grounds, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Ladonna Hensley, Crystal Chandler, John Lewis, Michael Divine, Kathryn Lanter, Matthew Divine, Rosanne Rogers and Randy Beshear; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann McLane of Louisville and Mary Phillips of Greenville; and special caregivers, Ronda Miller, Theresa Faughender and Agnes Dukes.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 19 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Ron Doss officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens in Powderly. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Green River Hospice, 109 S. 2nd St., Central City, KY 42330.


Bobby Guinn


    GREENVILLE – Bobby Guinn, 76, died Monday, June 16, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
    Born in Junction City, Ky. April 30, 1931, he was a retired supervisor for Kentucky Utilities Co. and a member of New Paradise Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Ruth Sims Guinn; three sons, Gary Guinn, Bobby Allen Guinn and Jimmy Guinn, all of Danville; two daughters, Jeanie Wilson and Kathy Howard, both of Prestonburg; several grandchildren and a great-grandchild; three step-sons, Gary Stallings and Bennie Stollings, both of Central City and Larry Stollings of Henderson; four step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Bessie Strom of Finley and Carol Harrison of Knoxville, Tenn.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 21 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Tim Adcock officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

Christopher Robert Schuman

    GREENVILLE – Christopher Robert Schuman, 31, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at his residence following a sudden illness.
    Born in Minot, N.D. May 4, 1976, he was a former manager at Burger King in Central City and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Greenville.
    Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Ann Yeager Schuman of Madisonville; his father, Eldon Schuman of Atlanta, Ga.; his mother, Morrine "Mo" Cox of Greenville; two sisters, Melinda Schuman of Columbus, Ga. and Rachel Marshall of Greenville.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 24 at New Harmony Baptist Church in Bremen with the Rev. Danny Yeager officiating. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery in Greenville. Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements.


Robert L. "Bob" Tucker, Jr.


    GREENVILLE – Robert L. "Bob" Tucker, Jr., 85, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
    Born in Todd County, Ky. March 8, 1922, he was the owner and operator of Tucker's Garage in Greenville and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was a member of Powderly Baptist Church in Powderly and the United States Navy, serving in World War II and in the Civilian Conservation Corp.
    Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jewell "Pat" Tucker; a son, Robert J. "Butch" (Donna) Tucker; a daughter, Kimberlee Tucker (Eddie) Hundley; two grandchildren, Patrick Tucker and Stephanie (Billy) Evitts; great-grandchildren, Maggie, Adrianna and Parker; a brother, Joe Edward (Jeanette) Tucker; two half-brothers, Ricky Tucker and Wendell Tucker; and two half-sisters, Vonell "Mary" Geary and Rita Kornes.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 23 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Larry Fitzhugh officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.


Doris Jean Moore

    QUALITY, KY. – Doris Jean Moore, 79, died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Maple Manor Healthcare in Greenville.
    Born in Butler County June 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Andy Fuller and Jessie Goodman Fuller. She was retired from the UK Cooperative Extension Services and was a member of the Quality Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Diane Moore; a sister, Noka Davis; and three brothers, George Fuller, Lee Fuller and Comp Fuller.
    Survivors include her husband, Louie Moore; a daughter, Lee Ann Owens of Bowling Green; a son, David Moore of Greenville; a brother, Boyd Fuller of Quality; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 24 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. in Lewisburg with Mark Page officiating. Burial followed in Quality Church of Christ Cemetery in Lewisburg.


Luona Parham Sears

    GREENVILLE – Luona Parham Sears, 66, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville following a lengthy illness.
    Born in Muhlenberg County Jan. 4, 1941, she trained horses and was a farmer and coal miner. She was a member of Cherry Grove Church of Christ in Weir. She was preceded in death by her father, Jefferson Lewis "J.L." Parham in 1992 and a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Sears in 1962.
    Survivors include a daughter, Romona Couch of Magnolia, Ark.; her mother, Lillian Johnson Garrett of Greenville; and an aunt, Verna Faye Johnston of Greenville.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. July 25 at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville with the Revs. Robert Gardner and Tim Adcock officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Weir. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. July 24 and after 9 a.m. July 25 at the funeral home.
